Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Your Coach Cayman Ltd., Cayman Islands ("we", "us"), the operator of Bottle Stories (the app and bottlestories.app). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.

What Bottle Stories is

Bottle Stories gives information about wines and spirits. You photograph a label and we write a story about the bottle, its makers and its place. It is not a shop. We do not sell, deliver or serve alcohol, and nothing in the app is an offer to buy it.

Legal drinking age

You must be at least 18 and of legal drinking age in your country to use Bottle Stories. By creating an account you confirm that you are. Please drink responsibly.

AI-generated content

Stories are written with artificial intelligence from publicly available sources. We work hard to keep them factual, but they may contain mistakes or leave things out. Don't rely on them for health, allergy, buying, investment or legal decisions. Check important details with the producer or the label.

Your account

• Keep your login details private. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Home → Delete account).
• Don't misuse the service: no automated scraping, reverse engineering, overloading it, or using it to break the law. We may suspend accounts that do.

Scans, free trial and plans

• Free trial: each new account gets 2 free scans, once. They don't renew.
• Paid plans give a fixed number of scans per month. These are hard limits: when they're used up, you can't scan again until your allowance resets. Unused scans don't carry over.
• Scans that fail or are interrupted before your story is delivered are not counted.
• Saved bottles, stories, notes and ratings stay readable even when you've used your scans.
• Prices are shown on the plans screen at the time of purchase, in the currency shown there.

Billing and cancellation

• Paid plans renew automatically each month until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund partial months, unless the law or the app store's rules require it.
• If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, that store handles your billing. You cancel or get refunds in your Apple or Google account settings. Deleting your Bottle Stories account does not cancel a store subscription. Please cancel it in the store separately.
• We may change plans or prices. Changes never affect a period you've already paid for, and we'll tell you before a new price applies to you.

Your content

Your photos, tasting notes and ratings stay yours. You let us store and process them only to run the service for you. The stories we generate are for your personal, non-commercial use.

The app, its design and our text belong to us; this does not include your content.

Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to App Store downloads.

Availability and liability

We provide the app "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands, and the courts of the Cayman Islands have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above and tell you in the app about important changes. If you keep using Bottle Stories after that, you accept the new terms.
