Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Your Coach Cayman Ltd., Cayman Islands, collects when you use Bottle Stories, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.

This is a first version of our legal text and may be updated.

What we collect and why

• Email and password, to create and secure your account. Passwords are stored only in a secure, scrambled (hashed) form. We can't read them.
• Label photos. When you scan, the photo is sent to our AI provider to identify the bottle. It's stored only if you save the bottle, in a private folder only you can open. Photos of bottles you don't save are not kept by us.
• Saved bottles and stories, tasting notes, ratings and language, so your shelf is there when you come back. Other users cannot see them.
• Scan history: just the time and status of each scan, to apply your monthly scan limit. It doesn't include the photo or the wine.
• Subscription status: your plan and whether it's active. If you pay through the App Store or Google Play, the store processes the payment and we don't receive your card details.
• Age and legal acceptance. We check your date of birth at sign-up and ask existing account holders to confirm once before continuing. Your date of birth is used only for the check and is not saved. We keep only the confirmation that you are 18 or over, the confirmation timestamp, and the versions of the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy you accepted.

We don't use advertising or third-party analytics trackers. The app stores only your sign-in session, language choice and, if an age check is refused, an under-age rejection flag on your device for 24 hours. A short-lived confirmation receipt may also be kept on your device until email verification. Neither the flag nor the receipt contains your date of birth. These are not tracking cookies, so no cookie banner is needed.

Who receives data

• Hosting and database: Lovable (Lovable Cloud, running on Cloudflare and Supabase infrastructure) stores your account and saved data.
• AI providers: label photos go to Google (Gemini) to identify the bottle. The wine's name, producer and vintage (never your photo, name or email) go to OpenAI to research and write the story. Both are reached through the Lovable AI Gateway.
• App stores: Apple or Google, if you subscribe through them.

These providers may process data outside your country. Google and OpenAI retain data under their own terms, and we do not control how long they keep it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete it or delete your account. Wine research we've gathered (facts about wines, not about you) may be kept and reused to answer future scans.

Deleted database data may remain in daily backups retained for up to roughly 14 days. These backups do not include stored label photos.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account in the app: Home → Delete account. This permanently removes your login, saved bottles, stories, label photos, notes, ratings, scan history and subscription record, including your age and legal acceptance record.
• You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@yourcoachcayman.com. We provide data copies within 30 days.
• You can also request account deletion by emailing info@yourcoachcayman.com from the address you signed up with. We complete email-deletion requests within 30 days.
• Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel that in your store account.

Age

Bottle Stories is about wine and spirits. You must be at least 18 and of legal drinking age in your country to use it. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone below this age requirement. If you believe a minor has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes and contact
